Dear Friends,

 

I am running for the District 6 seat on the Duval County School Board because I believe strongly in higher education, I care about the children in this district, and I believe they have a right to a first-rate education.  The Duval County School System is facing many challenges today, and I look forward to the opportunity to be a part of the solutions.

 

The Duval County School Board is in desperate need of new people and fresh ideas.  My background is in corporate leadership, operations, and resource management.  I am not a teacher or school administrator, nor do I have any professional affiliation with the school system.  This lack of a direct tie to the system is a great strength for me.  I am an average citizen, like you, who cares for the children and the quality of education in Duval County. 

 

My leadership qualifications for serving you include many years of leadership experience in the airline, banking, and consulting industries, and I have served in the military for many years as well.  I am currently employed by Florida State College at Jacksonville as a program manager  in the aerospace field.  A product of the Duval County School System, I am a graduate of the University of North Florida, and a current MBA candidate, with a leadership concentration, at Liberty University.

  

The Duval County School Board needs diversity in experience and fresh ideas from the private sector.  I have the leadership experience, the education, the drive, and the dedication to make a difference in improving education in Duval County.  A vote for me is a step in the right direction!
